Since 1999, Dean has designed, developed, and hosted websites for small businesses and non-profit organizations. Previous professional experience include four years of running a 2000 computer, 10 person help desk for Beckman Research Institute. He has extensive experience in management, technology, e-business, and consulting. Dean received his MBA degree from Claremont Graduate University and his bachelors degree in computer science from the University of Southern California.

Dean currently teaches Management, Marketing, E-Business, Economics, Communications, and Web Development classes at twelve different University of Phoenix campuses.

Dean is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society for Business Programs and in 1998 he won the Henry R. Kravis Entrepreneurship Award from Claremont Graduate University.
